Daily meals, making sure children get enough nutritious food to grow up healthy.
New Hope Orphanage Centre Kahama was born from one man’s own childhood. This is our history, why we started, and what we do every day for the children in our care.

New Hope Orphanage Centre Kahama was founded by Suleiman Ndikumana Nkanda, a man whose childhood experiences inspired him to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
As a child, Suleiman faced many of life’s challenges and lived through difficult conditions on the streets and within the community. Growing up was not easy. He knows first-hand the pain, struggles, uncertainty and hardship that children in difficult circumstances go through.
Those challenges did not destroy his hope for a better future. Instead, they shaped his heart, strengthened his determination and gave him a deeper understanding of what vulnerable children need.
When he grew older, Suleiman made a life-changing decision: to establish New Hope Orphanage Centre in Kahama, Tanzania, as a place where children facing difficult circumstances could find care, protection, love, support and hope for a brighter future.

New Hope was born from personal experience. Suleiman did not want other children to face the same hardships without support. He chose to turn the challenges of his past into an opportunity to serve others and help children build better futures.
Today, New Hope Orphanage Centre continues to give vulnerable children the chance to live with dignity, access essential services, develop their abilities, and believe that their future can be brighter than their past.
“Every child deserves care, dignity, protection, and an opportunity for a better future, regardless of their background.”The belief New Hope is built on
Suleiman understands from his own life what it means to grow up facing hardship. The centre was started to:
